Print-on-demand is a method for printing books at the time of purchase. Typically, products would be created hundreds or thousands of units at a time.
The Writer Writes uses print-on-demand to print your book when an order is placed. We print up to one hundred copies per order, based on how many you need.
Your book is printed using a digital file (in PDF format) for the interior and the cover.
When will my order ship?
Our books are printed on demand and the printing process can take up to 5 business days.
Once your book has been printed and bound, it will ship! Standard shipping can take anywhere from 5-7 business days.
Can I cancel my order?
Proofreading and Editing Services
Full refunds are available for services if cancellation is requested within 2 hours of placing the order and work has not started.
If work has already begun, a partial refund of up to 50% may be issued based on the progress completed.
Book purchases
Our books are printed on demand. As such, you may request to cancel your book order within 1 hour of your purchase.
What forms of payment does The Writer Writes accept?
We accept the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and Venmo.
The Writer Writes does not accept personal checks, money orders, cash, or wire transfers.
My purchase is stuck in transit. What do I do?
We understand how disappointing it can be to not receive your order in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, shipping times and transit delays are out of our control.
It may be best for you to contact your local post office or the chosen carrier as they can give you detailed information concerning the delivery of your item.
Publishing
Can I use The Writer Writes in conjunction with another publishing company?
Yes! We encourage authors to take advantage of all sales venues available to them. However, we recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of all businesses with which you deal.
Please note that you must obtain a new ISBN if you choose to publish with another publisher.
Does The Writer Writes provide free proof copies to authors?
We do not provide free proof copies to authors, however, we will provide a discount for all proof copies.
Can I revise my published book?
Yes! However, services will need to be paid in full before any revisions are completed.
Do I receive a percentage of books sold on The Writer Writes?
Yes, you will receive royalties for books you have written. Royalties = Book's price x Royalty rate - Print cost.
Our royalty rate is 30% for print books and 15% for ebooks.
What is print distribution pricing?
Print Cost: This is a set cost. Your list price must be at least twice the print cost in order to cover production.
Gross Profit: Revenue remaining after Print Cost.
The Writer Writes Share: 30% of Gross Profit
Your Revenue: 70% of Gross Profit

What is proofreading?
Proofreading is the final stage of editing where you meticulously check a document for errors like typos, grammatical mistakes, punctuation errors, and inconsistencies in formatting.
What types of errors does proofreading address?
Proofreading focuses on correcting minor errors and inconsistencies. Common errors include typos, misspellings, punctuation errors, grammar issues, and formatting inconsistencies.
What's the difference between proofreading and editing?
Editing: focuses on the content, organization, and clarity of your writing.
Proofreading: focuses on the mechanics, such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
What type of editing do you offer?
We offer line editing which focuses on improving the language and structure of the text at a sentence and paragraph level.
We DO NOT offer developmental editing or fact checking.
